Pay and Benefits
Liveops agents are not employees; however, they are freelance contractors who are paid totally on a per minute basis of talk time. It is a very important distinction because it means that agents are not paid for the time between calls, therefore if the volume is slow, you will not make much money.
It is necessary to note that freelance contractors are not guaranteed a minimum wage, and they have to pay their portion of Social Security and Medicare taxes, which is usually paid by the employer.
