Osun state poly, college lecturer vow to boycott class room

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics and the Colleges of
Education Academic Staff Union have directed their
members in Osun State owned polytechnics and colleges of
education to continue with their four month old strike.
The managements of the affected institutions in the state
have been making radio announcements that staff and
students should resume on Monday.
But the Secretary of the Council of Academic Staff Unions of
Osun State Owned Tertiary Institutions, Olusegun Lana, in a
telephone interview with our correspondent in Osogbo on
Sunday directed members of the council to defy the
directive.
The lecturers accused Governor Rauf Aregbesola of being
behind the resumption announcements but said they would
not succumb to the veiled threat of the governor.
