1. Nigeria Prize for Literature: The Nigeria Prize for Literature is sponsored by Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas, NLNG for Nigerian writers at home and in diaspora. Entries are accepted under four major categories; prose, poetry, drama and children’s literature.
2. The Flash Fiction Award: The Flash Fiction Award sponsored by Etisalat was established to encourage and inspire creativity and to cater for the large amount of interest received from unpublished writers across the continent.
The winner will receive one thousand Pounds, an iPad and a published e-book and two runner-ups will receive five hundred pounds and an iPad each. Stories with a maximum of 300 words are to be submitted at the Etisalat Prize for Literature Flash Fiction Webpage. Entries open in September 2020.
3. Farafina Trust Creative Workshop: You may also apply for Farafina Trust Creative Workshop in 2020. This event is a 10- day workshop for emerging writers hosted by Chimamanda Adichie and other award winning authors. A literary evening of readings which is open to the public, will be held at the end of the workshop on July 2020. This is an opportunity to know what it is about and get the inspiration to apply next year.
